Fireside Chat: Take Heart Personal Application

1. What situations are you facing in your life today that you have the strength to resolve yourself?

2. What situations are you facing today that are impossible for you to resolve in your own strength?

3. It took Abraham 13 years before he came to a place where he realized his strength was not sufficient to bring about the promise of God. God was not nervous about it. He was not moved by Abraham or Sarah’s age. He was not wringing His hands because they were past the age of child bearing.

Isaiah 55:10-11 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from Heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Take a moment to look back at places where you seemed to wait for a long time before you felt God touched a certain area in your life. Can you see how the wait worked for good in your life? If not, journal a few of your thoughts and then ask God to open your eyes to see the situation like He sees it.

4. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says that we walk by faith, not by sight. What does this mean to you?
