What I thought of this morning, as I looked at this key, I thought, “he's given us the key to peace”. Because He is our peace, we learn how to turn from anxiety and continue to turn to Him, and our choice being to live in that atmosphere of heaven, that atmosphere of peace. But it's as we press into Jesus and take the keys of the kingdom that he's given us, we then walk in a peace that passes understanding.
As I was getting ready to leave this morning and saw the key, I thought “I need to take that in and just let us consider that again and how we can apply it to our lives now in these circumstances”. Who knows what all is stirring in the atmosphere that affects us. Sometimes we can't put a label on it. It's just atmospheric, it's what the enemy is endeavoring to do and so to just look in the word and let him speak to us. I grabbed this book and way out. It’s an old book, well, here's a couple of lines. It’s talking about comfort for the believer: "when the attacks rise, to know that God sees the end from the beginning, and is allowing it for his own glory and the believer's good." We realize that what God is after is to show forth his glory in the earth in us and through us, so we believe that he sees the end from the beginning, and he is allowing whatever is happening for his own glory. It’s going to showcase his glory in a greater way, I think, in the midst of circumstances that we see now in our city, in our nation, what, you know, in whatever way you want to apply this, he is going to rise and be his glorious self in the midst of that. He’s in the midst of us and he's in the midst of us, corporately, and he is at work.
So we can rest in that and, in fact, that very posture of rest so delights his heart because it speaks of our trust in him. We absolutely trust him, beyond a shadow of a doubt, he's for us, he's not against us, he's helping us, he's leading us. There is nothing to fear, just put your trust in him.
