Bring Life

Listen as Jane exhorts us to rise up in the strength and victory that God has purposed and "Bring Life!"

Ephesians 4:29
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

As Christians, we should be characterized and known for the way we bring encouragement to those around us. We all, at some point, have experienced the feeling of being lifted up, and we should be the first to do that to others.

  • Who is someone who has exemplified bringing life wherever they go?
  • Who are some people you can intentionally lift up and speak life over?

You know, I think of the word “blessing” and how frequently the word blessing is used in the word of God. In Genesis 12, Abram sets out on a journey and the opening words are “I will bless you and I will make you the father of many nations”. So that word “blessing” contains so much. It's not just a nice pat on the back, it's like the hand of God resting upon you in a way “that causes all things to work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his name”. Abram was being called to become the father of nations, he's the cornerstone in the Old Testament. He's the cornerstone of redemption, later to be fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. Let's think about that word “blessing”. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our mindset was “I just want to bless people”, and we set out every day to bless all the people around us. It could be the mailman delivering the mail, it could be your co-worker, it could be your husband, your wife, your friends. Just a kind word or “wow you look really great today, God's just shining all over you”. Words that bring life because those words do actually lift a person's spirit, and help bring forth the life of Jesus.

So let's do that with one another and I want to close this brief little video by blessing you. By encouraging you by saying to you, “you have been called, and if you've been called you've been prepared. So rise up in the preparation, in the strength, in the victory that God purposes for your life. And move forward today blessing everyone around you and continue to bless each day. Bless those around you as you yourself are blessed, so that the reality of what that word means to strengthen, to walk in victory, to surround, to lift up. Just think what you're speaking forth with one word, blessing. Bless someone today, and you'll be blessed.
